Engagement process

From scoping memo to assurance conclusion

Our custom process page walks through how an ESG reporting assurance audit is planned, tested, and concluded—so finance and sustainability teams know what to prepare before we arrive on site.

  1. Scoping call

We confirm the reporting framework, the metrics proposed for assurance, legal entities in the boundary, and whether you need limited or reasonable assurance. You leave with a list of documents to gather.

  2. Engagement letter & fee quote

A written memo names scope inclusions and exclusions, site visit plan, timeline, team, and fee. Work starts after the letter is signed and the deposit is received.

  3. Evidence pack intake

Data owners upload source ledgers, meter logs, HR extracts, and the KPI mapping sheet. We raise clarification queries before fieldwork so plant visits are not spent hunting files.

  4. Field testing & inquiries

We sample transactions, recalculate selected metrics, inspect meters or production logs on site, and interview process owners. Exceptions are logged with evidence references.

  5. Draft findings & management responses

You receive a findings schedule. Management may correct disclosures or accept modified wording in the conclusion. Material unresolved items are discussed with the board contact.

  6. Assurance conclusion letter

The final letter states the level of assurance, the criteria applied, and any qualifications. We brief the audit committee on request.
